Uh well so…. this post will eventually soon become relevant! Hopefully by the time you are seeing this things have improved and you can actually visit these beaches. SO aside from the disaster that is left, they are still great beaches and I absolutely recommend going when everything is back to normal. This post is all about the best beaches in Fort Myers!
Best Beaches in Fort Myers
1. Bonita Beaches
Bonita Beach is in the top 3 of the BEST beaches in Fort Myers. This is a very popular beach, especially for activities and boating, and fishing. Super fun and great to visit! It’s sister beach located just next to it is Barefoot Beach!
LOCATION: Bonita Springs
PARKING: $2/hr
- This parking lot is the one you see right away alongside the road. If you want to get a spot here, you absolutely should plan on being here before 9am. It is a busy beach! Unfortunately at the moment, it is closed due to the storm. To check back to see when it will be open again, visit the Collier County website.
HOURS: 8am – Sunset
2. Barefoot Beach (Near Bonita Beach)
Barefoot is yet another one of the best beaches in Fort Myers. Located just next to Bonita Beach, literally!
LOCATION: Turn left before the Bonita Beach parking lot. This will take you down a long path towards Barefoot Beach parking.
PARKING: $10 flat rate, Free for pass holders
HOURS: 8am – Sunset
3. Horizon Way Beach
This is one of my top 3 faves of beaches I’ve been to in SWFL! I absolutely LOVED this one, as it was a quieter beach you could go to and relax. I miss going here, it closed as well due to the storm. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quieter beach! Absolutely one of the best beaches in Fort Myers area.
LOCATION: Horizon Way Naples
PARKING: $1.50/hr – small lot so I would plan on arriving early (before 9am)!
HOURS: 8am – Sunset
4. Bunche Beach
Another one in the top 3, Bunche Beach. This is another great smaller beach to go to! I loved going to this one, so many unique things to see and very unique landscaping. This is a historical beach preserve. Great views of Fort Myers and Sanibel on either side of you, and is on the way to Sanibel Island! In the top 3 of the best beaches in Fort Myers.
LOCATION: John Morris Rd.
PARKING: $2/hrΒ – there is a long road leading to the beach, when you get to the end it’ll have you turn around to then parallel park on the right side. Also recommend getting here early, especially during the springtime when it is season in FL!
HOURS: 8am – Sunset
5. Fort Myers Beach
Of course, the best beach is THE Fort Myers Beach! It will be a few years before this wonderful spot will be fully back to what it was before, but will be worth the trip when it is back! Exciting new things coming to FMB as well after rebuilding.
LOCATION: Estero Island Fort Myers Beach
PARKING: $5/hr via phone app
HOURS: 8am – Sunset
6. Vanderbilt Beach
If you are looking for a really nice beach that offers cabanas and nice beach chairs, this is the spot! There is a cost to get a chair or cabana but is so with it for a beach vacation! There is also a nice convenience store nearby the parking garage and a great selection of options for drinks and snacks on the beach! This is a busier beach, especially during season but is so worth a visit!
LOCATION: Vanderbilt Beach Naples
PARKING: Parking is in a garage, and it is still advised to get there early, as the traffic picks up a TON as it gets later in the day. Parking is paid at the front for $10/day.
HOURS: 8am – Sunset
7. Naples Beach & Pier
Visiting the Naples Pier and beach is a must. One of the many nice beaches to visit in SWFL! See a sunset here and you’ll leave with no regrets. π
LOCATION: Naples Pier
PARKING: If you arrive early enough, there is a lot right across from the pier that you can pay by the hour to park at. $1.50 – $2 an hour.
HOURS: 8am – Sunset
This post was all about the best beaches to visit in Fort Myers! Not all are located directly in Fort Myers, but are close enough that they are worth visiting while spending time in SWFL! Looking for outfits to wear to the beach? Check out our post on beach outfit ideas!
